This award is designed to honor the contributions of early career researchers (i.e., active in the field for less than 10 years after receiving their PhD or EdD). Recipients will be evaluated on the extent to which they meet the following criteria: - Demonstrate a clearly defined research agenda focused on the inclusion of people with significant support needs in the community (e.g., education, employment, community participation, family systems, higher education).
- Demonstrate a research agenda that has potential to impact practice, policy, and/or future research about inclusion of people with significant support needs.
- Demonstrate a strong publication record (i.e., accepted, in press, online first or assigned an issue) in last three years. Last three years includes the year of the conference. For example, the 2022 Conference would evaluate number of publications from 2020-2022
- Demonstrate a strong record of incorporating the TASH mission into courses they teach.
- Demonstrate a strong record of providing virtual or in-person professional development (e.g., teacher in-service, webinars, conference presentation) that supports the advancement of the TASH mission.
- Presented (poster or break-out session) at a TASH Conference within the last five years
- Served on at least one TASH committee (e.g., research and publications) or community of practice (e.g., inclusive education) within the last five years.
