2026 Early Career Teacher Educator Award - Nomination Form

 

This award is designed to honor the contributions of early career teacher educators (i.e., active
in the field for less than 10 years after receiving their advanced graduate degree). The recipient
of this award will have:


1. evidence of advancing the TASH mission among teacher candidates and/or practicing
teachers in the fields of inclusion and SSN and outside of this target audience


2. a strong record of incorporating content that aligns to the TASH mission (e.g., inclusive
practices, transition planning, introduction to people with disabilities) into courses they
teach (e.g., incorporates relevant research and research-based practices into courses)


3. a strong record of scholarly or creative works that demonstrate the connections of
research to practice for both pre-service and in-service teacher preparation (e.g.,
practitioner publications, research publications, podcasts, or other artifacts that
highlight work) that support the advancement of the TASH mission


4. presenting (poster or break-out session or contributing on a panel) at a TASH
conference within the last 5 years

To nominate an individual for this award, please complete the form below.

This award is designed to honor the contributions of early career teacher educators. To be eligible for this award, nominees must have been active in the field for less than ten years after receiving their advanced graduate degree (MAT, MS, MEd, EdD, PhD). The recipient of this award will have a clearly defined university-level teaching philosophy that aligns with the mission and values of TASH. This includes a clear emphasis on inclusive practices that integrate current research in evidence-based practices. In addition, the nominee has a well-established record of scholarly and/or creative work that effectively bridges research and practice. Collectively, these contributions reflect a sustained commitment to advancing the TASH mission by equipping educators with the knowledge and tools necessary to promote equity, inclusion, and high-quality outcomes for individuals with significant support needs. The nominee must include the following: 1. One letter of support 2. An updated CV 3. No more than 3 artifacts that provide evidence of teaching contributions that align with TASH’s mission (e.g., course syllabi, in-class activities, class PowerPoints, asynchronous assignments, samples/showcases of student work) and a paragraph description of each (i.e., no more than 250 words for each description).
